The next morning, I head on south to Walla Walla where my kids are living. I usually stay at the Four Seasons RV Resort while I’m there for it’s convenience to the kids, shopping, and because it’s nice and quiet. My RV is old and grungy with 156,000 miles on it but though I could be turned away from many RV parks, simply because it’s over 10 years old, this park has never asked. ( I just checked reviews of this park and one of them said they won’t let you stay if your RV is over 10 years old. I’ve stayed there 3 times and like I said, they’ve never asked. And I’ve always parked right outside the office when I drive in). I paid $192 bucks for a week. They let me move my RV up closer to the office when I had trouble getting a good Internet WiFi connection.
There’s the good old Snake river outside of Pasco, Washington. The surrounding area is dry here this time of year (Sept.)
James always keeps his eyes closed, just in case someone is throwing something at him. Mush reminds him it doesn’t happen that often.
Then we headed downtown to a Karaoke bar.
This bar was memorable for a couple three reasons. Got to listen to my daughter sing, then as I walked out to pay my tab, a young woman got to talking to me and eventually asked if I might be her father. Broke my heart that the poor gurl, our server for the night, had been serving me and the family for 2-3 hours and thought she saw a family resemblance between herself and me. She asked me when I graduated high school, and if I had known her mother. The name was familiar, but I didn’t really know her mother during high school. Made me sad that she didn’t know for sure what her father looked like. So, after we’d talked enough that she was satisfied that I couldn’t be her father, I gave her a big hug and encouragement and headed home. Then the third thing happened. When I got back to my RV, I couldn’t find my camera. I thought I’d left it in the bar, but they were closed by then. Next day, I called the bar, they hadn’t seen it, then that afternoon, I rode my bike down there, asked again when that gurl came in later. Gave her another hug, even though she didn’t remember seeing my camera on the table when we left and she cleared. What actually happened was that I’d tossed it into my son’s truck glove compartment and forgot about it.
A couple weeks later Mush found it and shipped it to me. Didn’t loose any pictures.
I spent a week here but didn’t do much other then visiting with the kids and doing some assorted shopping to replenish my larder after emptying it because of the border crossings. Couldn’t get up the energy to even check my leaking differential. Had the kids over for dinner & conversation a couple times. Rode my bike around the nearby part of town a couple times. Drove my RV over to Wa’high (High school), to see how it was surviving the years. Has a beautiful campus that’s more college like then high school. Really enjoyed going there. Seems like it’s doing well. Looked like I remembered except that the trees are a little more mature.
Fun pics. Yay not losing your camera!
Yeah, but I’m kind of looking forward to having a new camera. So losing this one wouldn’t bother me at all.
