In this section are articles related to improving or repairing the Norcold Model N842IM refer used in this Journey model RV. This refer model is NOT affected by the numerous recalls required by Norcold to try and repair an impossible to repair defect in most of their earlier 1200 series models. The design is defective though they continue to deny that fact. The defect has even involved some huge fires that destroyed the RV they were housed in, and deaths from smoke inhalation. This model doesn’t seem to be in any of the groups of defective refers on any list but I’ll be keeping my eye on it to be sure no issues crop up. For their part, Norcold has not been forthcoming or honest and occasionally adds another model to the growing list of defective units…they are up to model 841 as I write this.
