I know I said we’d go to a cemetery this time but I wanted to let my readers know that I’ve added an RV repair article and edited an article, so…here are the links. I’ll publish the cemetery article in a week or two. I tried to head up this AM to the pioneer cemetery that I’ve not visited yet to take pictures but my eyes couldn’t take the daylight, even with my polarized sunglasses on. Dunno what that was about, it wasn’t over cast, not a lot of reflected light, didn’t seem to be different than yesterday, 11 AM, haven’t been bitten by a vampire, it’s just my eyes couldn’t take the brightness today for some reason. They were fine when I went shopping yesterday. It’s overcast now and I may try again.
Anyway, here are the links…
Enjoy!
Looking forward to the cemetery. I’m an amateur genealogist and I’ve several family members who came to Calif from Kentucky to seek their fortune in gold and migrated up to Oregon later on.
About the water. The black and decker was missing when we bought our 03 Adventurer. My hubby had a single serving K Cup deal he kept at work and he liked the coffee so we decided to get one for the coach. The first one was killed by the generator power being so dirty. So then we set up a pour over system – the whole mess of grounds, filters, funnel and a tea kettle. That was too messy and too slow. So back to electric. Next one was a Tassimo. I liked it so much better. Then it died within weeks of purchase. Back to bed bath and beyond and they replaced it. I liked it so much I now have an unopened spare in the garage. We find most rv park water tastes horrible so we fill big jugs at home with our RO system. We find for week long trips it lasts us pretty good if we don’t cook with it.
Anytime we hook up to park water we use two filters outside and the one under the sink. So far not a lot of crud. But boy do we get that at home. I periodically take off my shower head and give it a soak in CLR. FWIW vinegar never worked for me with our really mineral rich house water. But the coffee maker cleaner for our Nespresso machine works well in the Keurig we have in the house. The Tassimo is so compact it’s perfect for the coach – it fits tidily under a hinged bench (we have no chairs). The discs are space saving as well. It’s sorta being willing to cut back on some other expenses to have expensive coffee. We cut out all other fancy beverages in favor of water. Probably better for us too – no more sugary sodas or fake sugar (cancer inducing) garbage.
My mom had terrible sensitivity to light after retinal reattachment surgery but it eventually resolved. Hang in there.
Well, dammit…I saw this comment when you first posted it and I was going to come back and make several comments on your comments. And then I forgot. Jeese, I’m gunna stab my brain with a Q-Tip, I swear.
Anyway, I’m not much into genealogy but do find it fascinating. I was able to track my family name, Mongan, back to the year 630-640 CE. Family name has a long Irish history but when I had the DNA thing done, it showed we were more from French branch of the Celts then the Irish line. Could have knocked me over with a feather.
I have a sediment filter after the hose. A hose type filter that I use occasionally at a parks spigot, then the excellent under sink filter for drinking/cooking water. I have used special chemicals to clean my water tank on occasion, but usually I just pour a little bit of bleach in it. So far so good.
I’ve found a certain surprising sensitivity to light, but with both eyes recently. Not sure what that points to if anything. It will be another 4 months before my 6 month anniversary for the retinal tear surgery so I’m waiting it out.
Thanks for reading!
